Every Christmas carol has a backstory. In this episode, Coco explains the odd, funny, outrageous and touching origins of some of the holiday season’s biggest hits, including Deck the Halls, O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, White Christmas, and many more! Some of these are glorious and some of these are just plain awful. But, all of these Christmas carols mirror our American experience and heritage. Lighter than our usual shows, we hope you enjoy this episode! We plan to make this a holiday tradition.
PS: There’s also a surprising number of Christmas carols written by Jews – Coco explains why.
